Object and Purpose
Paul du Toit set up his Foundation in order to keep a significant group of his work together and accessible. Du Toit donates work to the Foundation from his personal collection. The object of the Foundation is to acquire and conserve the original work which make up his collections including; plans, designs and models, notes and manuscripts, all archives, documents, property and diverse items which are of interest in regards to Paul du Toit's knowledge and thought and also to his artistic and literary work which it protects.

Catalogue Raisonné
The Paul du Toit Foundation documents works made by du Toit for publication in a catalogue raisonné. The catalogue raisonné seeks to be comprehensive in recording every work of art created by Paul du Toit.

The Foundation database records the title, date, size, media, provenance, publication and exhibition details for each work of art. In addition, the works are documented by photographs. The Foundation is in correspondence with museums, dealers, collectors, auction houses, and scholars world-wide. Research on each piece continues with daily updates to the records, including changes in ownership and current exhibition and publication references.

Owners of works attributed to Paul du Toit are encouraged to submit applications for the catalogue raisonné and to update the Foundation on changes to their collections. As the catalogue raisonné will be a completely illustrated reference, applications made without a photograph cannot be considered for inclusion. Photographs submitted become the property of the Foundation as a permanent part of the archival record, as well as for reproduction in the catalogue raisonné. Please note that the Foundation does not provide valuations of works.
