Unique works of art to help raise funds for Red Cross Children's Hospital

Cape Town, 30 November 2004. Red Cross Children's Hospital champion, artist Paul du Toit's contribution of original hand-made ceramic plates will go on auction at this year's Maersk Sealand Gala Banquet and Art Auction in aid of The Red Cross ChildrenŐs Hospital.

This distinguished annual fundraising evening will be held on 30 November 2004 to celebrate South African art with a difference. Hosted at the Arabella Sheraton Grand Hotel in Cape Town, this glamorous evening will showcase ceramic plates, personalized recipe and tablecloth originated by the artist.

Paul's involvement with the hospital comes from personal experience when he was hospitalsed as a child on and off for 3 years after being diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis never to walk again. "I know how solitary and boring it can be day after day in the hospital, and to see the children light up when artists go their to paint with them leaves an enormous impression."
